To put it in context, its closest counterpart in terms of historical epics for 2022, The Northman, only made $69 million on a $90 million budget. Yet somehow there doesn’t seem to be the rapturous and rabid celebration of its failure like we see here. I wonder why?
65 million domestically. I've watched many movies with mostly black casts, but this one just didn't interest me. I am not celebrating it, but I feel that studios have to be smart about what audiences want to see with black casts. This wasn't it.
shareIf it transpires that 'The Norseman' required rich (white) celebrities to buy out cinema screenings to bolster it's box-office...I'll rag on that movie too.
It will sell from $ 25 to 50 mill to streaming. It will break even.
