So you came here to make a point about Hollywood trying too hard to make a point while you haven't even seen the movie?
shareThat’s just the way it goes. Look at the pages for Bros or The Little Mermaid or any film that might trigger people into a meltdown, they are full of people who have no intention of seeing the movie forcing their opinions on others about how they are sick of movies forcing opinions on them. The irony of this behaviour seems entirely lost on them.
shareSo you mean like the new Blade fighting the white supremacist vampires that suck the blood of the black, working class?
Erm, sorry, I just realized the oxymoron: black working … lol
It doesn't help that the story was written by two white, liberal women that have no idea what their audience truly likes, nor do they have any real talent of their own besides offending people outside of Hollyweird.
shareNo greater corruptive force than a middle aged white liberal woman. Look to any regressive ideology and more likely than not you will find them behind it.
shareNo, this is someone riding the coattail of woke liberalism thinking negro is what people want to see.
shareI know, right?! Some of the worst societal changes in America were caused by them! They're the reason our public school system is so messed up, and they're the ones who pushed hardest for gay privileges as well as treating blacks better than their own people! I saw firsthand what they were like as a kid, and I swore I'd never grow up to be like them.
share"Every movie aimed at a black audience today doesn’t have the appeal to be enjoyed by everyone."
Two points about moviemaking:
1: Some movies are made to appeal to specific audiences, not everyone in the mainstream. Such movies can be profitable for the filmmakers, if the budget is appropriate for the number of people who would be interested.
2: Audiences can totally enjoy movies about people who aren't like themselves, I mean why else would anyone make a period film? If I can love "Black Panther" or "The Seven Samurai", why can't white straight men get into a movie about a black woman? I mean, you guys expect black women and other groups to be happy with every movie ever made having a white straight male protagonist...
