A bunch of people are finding their genitalia laying on the floor over the "fact" that they don;t think the film will address the Dahomey's involvement with the slave trade. According to this reviewer, it does.

The kingdom has been at war with the Oyo Empire, which routinely kidnaps Dahomey’s people and auctions them off to slave traders. Ghezo is himself complicit in this human trafficking, though Nanisca tries to steer him toward palm oil production as a sustainable alternative for enriching the kingdom.

My review:

It was great! As expected, Viola Davis is very good and there are strong performances from Thuso Mbedu and Lashana Lynch. The film is entertaining and well directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. Cinematography is really nice and the score is effective as well. The Woman King is an enjoyable and satisfying film and would make my current top 10 list of the year. My rating is an 8/10.
