They waited too long to make it. It could've been successful if it had been released 2009-2014. People are just tired of post-apocalyptic shows especially in light of COVID, but also the rise of SJWs/wokeness hurt too.

There are multiple post-apocalyptic shows or movies released every year.
I'm mostly through it now. After first I thought it was pretty bad, but over time I can appreciate what it is trying to do, albeit sometimes in a comedic way.
It's funny how they portray the nutty Republicans, because the news shows us every day how nutty and getting nuttier Republicans are, but then it also take shots at the Women's Libbers, and the LGBTQ or whatever it is "community", and supposed "woke-ness". It is actually pretty funny. Even the Democrats are portrayed as wishy-washy and incompetent.
It is an original take at the apocalyptic genre, and is actually pretty clever, but it is infuriating in a way. The damn monkey really gets on my nerves. And the President's two bratty kids are really terrible.
But, unless they can pull a miracle out of someone's hat - all the male mammals are dead and there is no more population ... the whole natural system would be sentenced to death. I wonder how they can fix that?
