Yeah, I might be in the minority, but still like The Lost World a lot, and prefer it over all other sequels. I guess because of Goldblum, Spielberg and John Williams were still involved.

Also 3rd is Dominion, after seen it once. My expectations were below zero after JWFK. I didn't even want to go to see it. Then I found myself enjoying it. Not wildly, but the original cast were fine, and there were good sequences. Much better than the last one. Nowhere near the original, but in this day and age i guess that's all what we could get from Hollyweird.

JP3 and JWFK were the only ones I hated after first seeing. I guess i hated 3 more than FK, but back then I was more naive and expected something better from the franchise. Now it bears a slight nostalgia factor, and kind of a vintage feel thinking about it... just don't make me watch it again...

So funny how different we all are. I love JP3 because it knows what to do - get me back to an island fast and get back to being chased by dinosaurs. I thought Lost World was pretentious.

I'll agree JWFK was absolute garbage. What a trainwreck.

I think they shoud have added another 20 minutes of a spinosaurus ending sequence, something involving the raptor bones somehow to be saved by them, etc, it coud have been a more complete movie. Now it's like The Lost World were ended before the T-rex romp in San Diego, the movie feels tragically unfinished for me. TLW was rushed too, but with amazing and much more complex sequences than JP3. Also, Spielberg back then was at the top of his game even when he didn't care that much. And the soundtrack of it is spectacular, also Goldblum was in his best shape ever.

Oh I agree about the abrupt ending - that was awful. It was like they ran out of money or time and just said screw it. The flip side is the tacked-on ending to TLW, which felt so out of place and didn't make sense.

TLW has that one moment that blew me away - the scene where the science truck was dragging off the cliff. I remember being on the edge of my seat in the theater when that happened. That being said, the 'good guys' were terrible and ended up getting so many people killed, yet it was just brushed aside.

Yeah, the truck off the cliff scene is probably the best of all movies. That is where the Spielberg factor kicks in for me. Obviously they didn't have the budget in JP3, but the grandiose of the 2nd was totally lacking in 3. Also the talking raptor scene was so out of place for a Jurassic Park movie I almost cried when I've first seen it.
Got to admit, when I saw the 2nd as a 13 year old, I liked it a lot, but soon came to a conclusion that the first was much better.

Anyway, just a thought: The 3rd movie is the only one you could skip lorewise. It's just a themepark ride, and adds nothing to the story. All others have significant reveals and changes, even TFK is a must watch to understand Dominion. Though that movie is nothing but a filler between 4 and 6, and in this case it would have been better if it didn't have the stuff it has... But i guess life, uh, found a way...

I’m putting Dominion last, I liked it but some of the science and actions of the characters didn’t add up and I suspect it was about getting all the past characters into the story at the expense of a tight narrative. JP3 is perhaps the least grand but worked on a human level.
