Latifah is a butch lesbian and Sandler looks like a guy who's addicted to banging escorts. Very odd pairing and unsurprisingly it was not convincing

I’m not a big fan of either, but she played the part just fine. There are interracial couples in reality, simply featuring one in a movie does not automatically denote “wokeness”.

You’re oversensitive if you are getting upset by the depiction of an interracial couple in a fairly apolitical movie.

I’d imagine on the other side there are people complaining about the depiction of a white basketball player and the antagonist of a black one.

Both side are snowflakes.

I think Queen Latifah has some sort of connection to basketball, and that is why she was cast. If you look at her filmography, she has multiple movies connected to basketball. Just Wright comes to mind.
