Spoiled by....
....SJW and colonial apologist bullshit
shareWere there only 3 episodes? I still haven't watched Episode 3. The show started off fairly well I thought, then it did that flash forward into the future scenes and I'm like--what the eff, we don't need that in a show like this.
shareYeah, 3 episodes.
Part 3 was the worst of all
LOL I didn’t get that far, as soon as the weak minded fool started with the colonial apologist bullshit in episode 2 I switched off, I was already bored of it before hand and annoyed that it wasn’t following the book, such a shame it had to go woke and not try to become a worthy adaption of the classic Sci-Fi novel.
shareYou did the right thing because it got even worse with apologist bullshit
shareH.G. Wells goes out of his way to compare the Martians in the book to past invading armies wiping out indigenous populations and how humans should not judge the Martians because they are also guilty in much the same way. Sounds pretty SJW to me, but I guess he gets away with it because he wrote it over 100 years ago.
shareMaybe it was innovative back then but the fact it's in this 2019 bbc miniseries seems more like proganda now. Though nice for the depiction of the era (1900) combined with sci-fi, the script and acting was not that great. They could have avoided doing politic (religion?) for one second.
