Why do all studio animated films have the same template?

I liked this but do executives insist on certain check-box moments being present?

Protagonist feels disconnected and different from other people and just wants to please their father. Check.

The wife is always right, a little chuckle for the henpecked husbands. Check.

Mommy warrior can do it all, get the Karens grinning. Check.

I mostly agree, but for a change check out Japanese anime movies. They often go other ways, for instance The Princess Kaguya, or Ponyo.
