There seems to be room in the marketplace for ONLY the "Big Three"...Warner Bros/Universal/Disney... and all other studios are on life support.

But...maybe not Sony. They currently have two biggies in theaters at the moment with Jumanji and Little Women.

Now...are they the heavy-hitting players of the tight budget/high returns that Warner Bros and Universal are? LOL...absolutely not but they also aren't in the precarious situation Disney has found itself in where they are spending BILLIONS to buy properties and Fox and are now in the position where a film literally has to make close to a billion dollars to even BREAK EVEN. *cough*Rise of Skywalker*cough*

Just let that sink in for a minute.

For Disney it gets even worse. Their upcoming slate is pretty weak but the films will still have monstrous 200+ million budgets like they are sure-fire blockbusters. Disney's course is absolutely unsustainable.

So who will take Disney's spot in the "Big Three"? I'd put good money on Sony. Lol...dont worry...Universal and Warner Bros won't be relinquishing their spots for a looooong long time.

Unfortunately Jumanji is under performing compared to the 2nd one and Little Women will be lucky to break even.

Uhhh, not for Domestic Box Office. Your calculator must be broken.

2017 Day 17 for: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle $219 Million
2019 Day 17 for: Jumanji: The Next Level $175 Million

Last time they ran numbers through a supercomputer $219 was still larger than $175.

Ok. I see I got that wrong, but the calendar configuration and release date started RIGHT before Christmas in 2017 and those 17 days were almost pure holiday runway. There's still 6 days of holiday play for Jumanji 3 so it's going to catch up VERY quickly.

You sure did. The question is why didn't you SEE that before you made your stunningly inaccurate statement? I thought you followed all the industry "Chatter" quite closely?

And both Jumanji:Welcome to the Jungle (12/13) and Jumanji:The Next Level (12/20) were released within 7 days of each other covering the EXACT same holiday window.

There's still 6 days of holiday play for Jumanji 3 so it's going to catch up VERY quickly.

Pray tell just how are those 7, not 6, days going to allow for J:TNL to catch up very quickly?

That statement defies both financial math and movie audiences buying tickets during that same period. On Day 17 J:TNL was at $175 Million domestic and J:WTTJ was at $219 Million domestic.

On Day 24 J:WTTJ was at $262 Million and J:TNL is at $236 Million. Looks like J:TNL is still lagging behind J:WTTJ by ~$26 Million. Doesn't look like it is quickly catching up. But maybe you have an alternate set of facts that will enthrall everyone? Yes, no, maybe?

Another delusional post. Disney literally owns the box office this year. 7 of top 10, totalling $4 BILLION when you add in next month for Skywalker. Other two are insignificant.

Like all studios, they have good films and bad films. I thought Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was one of 2019's best.

QueenFan doesn't really care for Universal, remember? He's probably very happy that something from Universal bombed disastrously too.

That, or he would probably insist that Cats still made more money than both Star Wars and Frozen 2 somehow... and caused those movies to 'bomb.'

The highest grossing movie of 2019 was a Disney movie, the best performing studio in 2019 was Disney, this will be the same for 2020, sorry queen , you’re getting to desperate, it’s embarrassing to see, I really don’t know why you do this to yourself, the hate you have for Disney makes you look stupid
