“Imma be a horse for all eternity”

I get why he wanted to stay in the game forever, but why as the horse? Couldn’t he switch into another avatar before they left? I get now he is no longer terminally ill, but living an eternity as a horse just for the sake of it seems odd. They should have added a subplot about how he loves animals or used to be a pilot before old age ended his flight career. Especially after they established they could switch bodies, it just makes no sense as to why he would chose to spend eternity as a horse when he could’ve picked anyone else.

I thought that was odd too. He should have switched with Bravestone, that would have made more sense. Also wasn't he down to one life left?

reply

I thinks it because the girl said he had a big wang and wanted to stay that way. Naw he really should have swapped bodies to the Rock

reply

I didn't get that either. So he willingly chose to be a beast of burden forever? He can't talk so it's going get damned lonely and his only real option for companionship would be to bang other horses(gross). Like others have said, just switch into the rock or even the redhead.

reply

He has wings so it is unlikely he is a beast of burden.

reply

You mean a Flying Horse.

I just assumed he could go to the waterfall and change avatars as he wished.
(I know it doesn't make sense with the movie, but it's the only reason my brain CAN think of.)

reply

yah the flight was a big factor.
i mean his character (from what we've seen) was the only one who could actually fly.

i dunno- i would've swapped with either Jurgen the Brutal or Switchblade
lol

reply

I'd probably go with Ruby Roundhouse, and spend most of my time 'exploring' myself.

reply

I wonder how the gang would explain this when he eventually is reported missing, like "Oh yeah he's stuck as horse inside a broken video game". I highly doubt anyone let alone the cops would believe that.

reply

lol, I'd love to see a serious police procedural show or movie about this, filmed David Fincher style.

4 nutty college kids and an old man claim a terminally ill black friend went missing in a video game, but chose to live inside it for the rest of his years.

reply

Sounds like an X-files episode. From the earlier seasons when they did episodal investigations.

reply

Explain what? There is no evidence he was even there if DeVito doesnt tell anyone.

reply

From a real-life perspective, I can understand it. If he switched bodies before the others left, the producers would effectively remove that actor from any future sequels. Bet none of them would have cared for that.

reply

To be fair, he has a massive dick, and he can fly. On top of that (though it may not have occured to the old man) being a horse with no allies would likely mean Jumanji wouldn't be constantly trying to kill him.
It might seem odd, but the more I think about it the more sense it makes. Sure there are downsides to being a horse, but it's also a hassle-free life - no more drama, just a simple peaceful life.

I would think his age, as well as his illness, is the main reason. Getting to an age where your mobility is so limited, to suddenly being able to fly, must be a dream for someone in his position. But also, the fact of the matter is he can change to anyone at pretty much any time. He can pick someone up for a flight and then drop them into the water.
