I think it's a great show, mind you. I'm happy it's been renewed. But they should just go all out and make Magnum run a PI team comprised of Rick, TC and Higgins. They don't even try to come up with good reasons for everybody to be helping Magnum anymore. They're basically his employees. These are not friends with busy lives of their own doing favors for a buddy. He's leading a team. Last few episodes felt more like the A-Team than any kind of detective show. I don't know if they're to fill the Scorpion hole or what. But it's gorgeous, action packed, likeable characters. It's good fast food tv. But this could be actually great.

I mean Rick and TC are putting together Magnum's BBQ grill? These are successful men with their own businesses to run. They wouldn't waste their doing some grunt job like that, they have their own employees for that crap. I know the whole bit was just for laughs and to set up some feels later on, but it was just insulting.

The writers have no clue what they are doing. I'm also confused on why they even bother to have the old Hawaiian lady all the time she serves no purpose. At this point they really should stop calling it Magnum PI, do a reboot and just call it Hart to Hart because that seems to be where they are headed.

I thought I knew what they were doing with the old lady. I thought they had decided to turn Higgins into two people. Making the new old lady the stern disapproving house keeper. This allows us to maintain most of the essential elements of Higgins, just in two characters. Which would have been clever. But nope She's just hanging around. By transferring Higgins elements to the old lady, we can now evolve Higgins into the character they clearly want to be writing for. Get that feisty Castle/Bones chemistry going on.

Given the reluctance of the main character to shoot to kill and instead shoot the bad guys in the leg I have to think this is more like Hart to Hart than Castle or Bones where you didn't have such an aversion to gun violence. Funny thing is Magnum was supposed to be a former Navy Seal which means he would have had hardcore training with gun and it would be ingrained in him to shoot to kill not this Dudley Doright wing them in the hand crap.

Not as good as Rookie with Nathan Fillion. I've got 3 episodes of Magnum Rebooted queued up and I'm done.

I notice the imdb vote count for episodes is declining, so viewers should be too. The title rating of 5.2 is fake, all the episode ratings are 7-8!
