WTF Reboot.

First of all, if they intended a "Reboot" of the show, why put a Mexican in the lead role and "white-wash" his name? Did his character go to Immigration and change his name to get the estate job? Do you think if they got an Chinese guy to play the Magnum role, would his name be Thomas Sullivan Magnum? It feels very unnatural.

Maybe play it out like Magnum retired and the new guy played by Jay takes over the estate security. IDK. It's insulting to Mexican-Americans to be forced by Hollywood to take white names just to get a job not landscaping.

The whole show feels weird. I have nothing against Higgins being a babe. All the supporting cast should be girls. Like Charlie's Angels. :) and they support Mini-Magnum in all his endeavors. Jay Hernandez would then have a real show built around him instead of trying to fill the shoe of a great American icon. T.C would be Theresa Clarence, Rick would be Rebecca and Higgins a Sexy Dom. LOL.

Maybe Hollywood can no longer come up with great show ideas so they just keep "reboot"-ing iconic shows of the recent past. But is there an excuse for the horrible scripting? Jay deserves better and his agency should sue.

I'm probably alone in this so sorry if you don't agree.

CBS is just lazy. They know that their viewers aren't the brightest bulbs and will virtually watch just about anything with a familiar name.

I think it's even lazier, in that they already own the names and copywrites and trademarks and all that crap. Couple that with foreign audiences being familiar, and it's a safe investment. That's a show you can sell to non-English speaking countries with a quick voice over EZ PZ.
