Every time I see a clip of this it looks like history-rewriting slop

And I don't mean in the alternate timeline way--that's the premise of the show. I mean in the way that subtly reprograms people to believe woke lies. Pernicious lies, like pretending that there was a pool of talented women engineers from which to draw, and that the only reason they weren't hired is discrimination. Or pretending there were racial tensions at NASA, when there weren't (as confirmed in the biography of that lady from Hidden Figures, who said she never experienced any segregation or even negative race-based comments).

Then things like astronauts acting like assholes, being male chauvinists, women in positions of administrative power and dressing them down, etc.

NASA's goal in the space race was to hire the best engineers, scientists, and test pilots to have the best chance of competing with the Soviets. That's what we did, and they were exclusively white men for a variety of reasons, most important of which is probably the education pipeline.

Which lady are you referring to? There were three... And there was mention of segregation and racism, what are you on about? You never heard of bro culture before? Go work in Silicon Valley or some game company and you'll experience it.

lol no

Find me an interview with her where she mentions racism, segregation, or sexism.

She talks about how it was unusual for girls to be in the programs, but she wanted to do it and got two job offers on the same day.

"I asked permission to go. And they said, 'well, the girls don't usually go,' so I said, 'Well, is there a law?' They said no, so I said, 'well, so then my boss, I gotta go.'" Such a barrier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8gJqKyIGhE

All the videos that mention racism or sexism are slop that has nothing to do with what she's saying, as voiceovers and modern projections, like this from National Geographic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4j_LpKzcZQ

Hollywood pumps out slop and rewrites history, and idiots eat it up.

The events in the film are fictional. There was no coffee pot incident. No one told her she couldn't use the bathroom--the signage was state mandated and no one at NASA believed in it, nor was it ever an issue.

Johnson in all these interviews seems to just like talking about the computing (manual number crunching) she did, and she doesn't discuss all the crap that's projected onto her through our modern lens.
