Gene Kranz (spoiler)
I think it’s interesting that Gene is killed in the season one but the real man is stil alive. How often does this happen in movies, when the fictional version of a real person is killed while the real person is alive?

shareWhat did they do with Werner Van Braun that you did not like? The historic data on him was correct, in fact they probably went easy on his memory. The scene where the Margo Madison had to go collect the documents from his house was written brilliantly. I completely overlooked the historical fictional aspects of this in terms of criticism because it was just so good.
What was your problem with that. I do wonder if Gene Kranz was asked or saw this series and what he thought about it. He is 88 now, and I wonder what his state of mind is. The scene of his and the technician's death was hard to watch. It was so strange how the mission control room was concentrating on their readouts and screens so much that they did not notice the huge fireball developing. I believe they got that from the Challenger explosion.
