The film is not about marriage, but about getting a divorce. James Berardinelli's review posted on here is fairly accurate. The privileged lives of a director and actress are not the ideal story to present in a theatrical release, so it's on Netflix.

Realistically, the scumbag lawyers should have gone much farther than what the film showed. Their real goal is to get as much of the parties' money for themselves as they possibly can, by dragging the case out for as long as possible. Fathers' rights are trampled on regularly by divorce and family courts. This was not shown. This is a TV movie that made a nice try but missed the mark by a long shot.

A lot of pissed off men complain about divorce, but if you look at the real stories and the real stats it is almost always the woman who gets screwed, and that is the whole reason the process is so fucked up. But that was awfully hard to watch.

How do women get screwed? In the US they get alimony. Which is ridiculous imo. In most countries divorced women are entitled to 50% of whatever the couple´s net worth is, even though men usually contribute to most of that. There is a reason the term "gold digger" exists.

But its really about divorce. Literally the entire movie is about the divorce process and getting lawyers, the complications of separation etc. The director is just being pretentious.
