*SPOILER* I was very surprised to learn...
... that the guy who looked like Gandalf turned out to be Gandalf!
share... that the guy who looked like Gandalf turned out to be Gandalf!
shareHave they officially said it was Gandalf beyond him using a phrase that Gandalf used in the movies? They should have made him a different Istari.
shareI agree that him being another ishtari (one of the blue wizards perhaps) would be much more interesting, but I seriously doubt it.
shareWhat the freshman writers showed until now, they are totally lacking any subtile story telling. Of course it would make sense to use another sorcerer, alone because Gandalf is confirmed landing only 1000 years in the third age (aka 1000 years later). But they cut a story, which should be at least stretching several human generations to maximal one. And the one guy, who totally looking suspicious, was the suspicious one - even when there was nothing previously descrbed like that.
shareIt's doesn't totally ruin it for me if it is Gandalf since I can just assume that the third age visit wasn't the first time they sent Olorin to Middle Earth. It just would have been more interesting with a different wizard, but I'm guessing they just want to have the connection of Gandalf and the original movies to this series. Typical Hollywood poppycockery.
shareI wasn't.
