Made about 170 million. Not bad for a 15 million budget.
Next investment vehicle could be made with the same mold, there is a market.

sharePrior to joining this site, I've been to quite a few websites in seeing what their comment sections are like, whether it's Box Office Theory or World of KJ Index, and I have never seen more people get this worked up over a movie making this much $$$$ and when I say worked up, I'm talking about liberals throwing shade at this being a Right Wing Qanon Movie unaware of the fact that it's a very real topic and does happen?? I mean, if the Left had created this movie, they'd be beating their chests over it..
shareStorm in a teacup. About as hyped as the size of the crowd at the 2017 inauguration.
shareThe Economist actually had a small article on this movie in their latest issue.
The newspaper noted the new successful marketing tactic of the "anti-Hollywood" film. That Donald Trump had a showing at his location. That the film didn't have to have any budget for advertising, as right wing media carried the message. False rumors of movie theaters not wanting to show it or turning off the A/C amped up conservatives to go see it.
This is the first movie EVER that this new marketing tactic has happened and has been profitable for the creators.
Expect more follow.
oh , this explains all the "Dems hate this movie" threads and Dems be all like "huh? what movie?"
As the U.S. has gotten more polarized politically, it is about time someone figured out that it could be used as a excellent marketing gimmick.
sharehmm I wonder if works both ways .
I mean , this whole thing seems to be driven on the apparently widely held and completely absurd maga belief that "dems are pedos"
Could you market a movie to dems on the premise that "Republicans are triggered by this movie - its got {xyz}"
Its actually hard to work out what the mirror side of that would be .
(especially as dems are not pedos and are against sex trafficking) ,
I suppose all the movies that have apopleptic rants by magas about "woke" is what were talking about.
It does work both ways.
Barbie (23)
The only difference is Barbie spent millions (unnecessarily) on marketing.
