I think more Indians love Apu than hate him

Speedy Gonzalez was canned for being a stereotypical mexican but it turned out that he was also beloved by Latinos.

I think a lot of Indians (not their children) would be mad that he’s being taken away.

Immigrant children often have a very different perspective because childhood is about identity and fitting in, whereas adulthood is more goal oriented. So Indian migrants might actually love Apu for demonstrating a work ethic far superior to most Americans.

Any Indian people I have ever talked to wonder what the big deal is. They don't find Apu offensive in the least. Hysterical - Yes. Offensive - No.

I find it even more ironic that most didn't know who Hari Kondabolu is.

It's white guilt, for whatever reason some whites want to be offended on the behave of nonwhites. Speaking of Speedy Gonzales, fluffy gave the Twitter mob the finger recently.

Makes me think of that SNL sketch with Alec Baldwin. He cancels Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima, he says it's not what you did its how you make us feel.
