So Damn Inconsistent. For Example the Cain Pit.

One could tell that the writers for this series had a devil may care attitude when they put it together. That they went with whatever they thought looked good for each episode & screw what went before. Meaning that this show tries to recreate a specific world but even then it doesn’t follow its own mythology.

For sure instance the Cain pit is where you can be resurrected after dying or more specifically being killed. We learn Zelda has done this to Hilda numerous times. Ok, but if that’s the case then why didn’t it work for Agatha without any problems like it did for Hilda? We see how Agatha’s resurrection didn’t go off without a hitch after she was sacrificed in order to bring Tommy Kinkle back to life & then in turn she was brought back using the pit.

Hilda then explains to Ambrose that “The earth expects a soul”. Alright if that’s true then that should’ve been the case for Hilda as well for all the times she was killed & brought back. Lazy writing or am I missing something?

I think it has something to do with the resurrection of Tommy Kinkle.

In order for Tommy to be resurrected someone had to be sacrificed. They sacrificed Agatha, but it wasn’t a real sacrifice as she was also brought back to life in the Cain Pit.

Every time Hilda was killed and ressurected in the Pit it wasn’t a sacrifice and necromancy and I guess that’s why she had no problems after being resurrected.

But yeah now when I wrote all of it, I realize that the line “The earth expects the soul” really has no sense.

Earth never expected a soul when Hilda was resurrected, because it doesn’t work that way. But something else was expecting a soul when Sabrina performed necromancy ritual on Tommy, maybe Satan or whatever.

Maybe it’s all connected and the Pit knows that Satan or whoever was cheated and it demands a soul?

I believe you have it exactly correct. Since the point was to bring Tommy back another soul had to die. Since Agatha came back, the exchange was invalid and Tommy's soul did not come back.
