She deletes the photo...
... to hide her excistence. But she doesnt delete the pic in the deleted items folder also. So she still screwed.

shareI noticed that also. She only deleted it to the trash/recycle bin. Kind of like with computers. When you delete something, it just gets moved to the recycle bin first. You have to delete it from the recycle bin/clear the recycle bin to remove the file. So that's what happened with the pic on the phone. It just moved to the phone's trash/recycle bin. But on all the iPhones I had, they only stay in the trash/recycle bin for 30 days. Then they automatically delete themselves (well, the technical term is they expire since you have 30 days to recover them). But I'm sure the photo might not delete itself after 30 days and could be recovered. I'm sure the ones who has the phone will question what happened to the first photo. Then they could check the trash/deleted items folder and find it there and hit the option to recover it. But I'm pretty sure the ones that took the photo Charlize Theron has nothing to worry about and stuff. So she'll be fine. I actually thought that the photo she deleted would come into play later on in the movie. I guess it never did. I thought that maybe those people would end up being connected to whoever the main villain is and the main villain uses that photo for something on finding Charlize Theron and gang. But it went nowhere. And that's part of why I hate going into something blind. I hate playing guessing games and trying to figure out stuff and then end up being wrong. I actually had no idea the movie would have supernatural elements. I thought it would be a female version of Chris Hemsworth's Extraction. I did watch the trailer too, but I don't think I was really comprehending what I was watching. So I must've missed the supernatural stuff in the trailer. So when the gang got shot up and stuff and came back alive, I had a WTF moment. I just thought the one guy was trying to fake their deaths and make them go undercover for him and he had a way to revive them and stuff.
shareShe tried to prevent any photos with her being shared on social media. With her help, the tourist got a better group photo. Therefore, we can safely assume that the tourist won't share the failed selfie left in the trash folder.
shareThe picture is still on the phone though. Charlize didn't fully delete it. The tourist could go looking for it because they remember taking another photo and not having just the one Charlize took. So the tourist could go look for it, find it in the trash can, and recover it, which will then undo everything Charlize did and was trying to prevent. If the filmmakers are going to be smart about it and stuff, then they would've had Charlize go into the trash can too and delete it from there. Even I'm not that phone smart or has all this protection stuff going on to keep my identity safe like Charlize, but come on. Even I know that when I delete pics from my phone that I have to go into the trash can option and delete the picture from there to fully delete the picture from my phone. This should've been basic knowledge for Charlize's character, especially with her job. That should've been in the 101 class for the training for her job.
shareThe deleted photo is poorly taken. One of their friend is out of the frame and the other shows only half her face. It has little sharing value, and Andy eliminates that risk by giving them a better group photo. Not overreacting to minor risks shows how sophisticated she is. If Andy hasn't left the photo in the trash, the tourists wouldn't have seen how bad it is. In which case, they might try to recover the photo from the cloud.
