This can't be stated enough.....

That Judy was "on drugs" is misunderstood...... She didn't do drugs to "get high" or for "fun/recreation." She wasn't in some back alley "shooting-up."

From her teenage years (thanks to MGM -- and some say her mother) she was addicted to prescription drugs. No one knew or cared about the dangers. And, if the drugs came with the "blessing" of a doctor, they can't be bad. Right?

She was given "uppers" for energy and weight control, then she needed "downers" to sleep and counteract the "uppers."

Her system was completely screwed-up. It was a life-long battle and trap from which she could never extricate herself.

Is it any wonder that she started to have nervous breakdowns in her late 20's? What is a wonder is how she managed to live as long as she did.

Her early death was a terrible loss and a tragedy.

Did you bother to see the move, Mike? It in no way implies that Judy was "getting high." Just the opposite. While
Zellwegger in no way match's Judy's voice, she does capture her soul. The move is decent. Zellwegger's acting is
a marvel.

Hello, GB. No, I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard all good things about it on YouTube.

When I wrote the above, I realized it sounded like that I was implying something the movie might have said. That was not my intention. Since this movie will probably call attention to Garland (again), I wanted to state the truth in this NEW forum.

I'm so goddamned tired of hearing the uninformed say she was a drug addict. It's thrown around SO much that the casual listener takes it as gospel-truth and runs with it. Even brief documentaries on YouTube mention "drug addict," without explaining the truth. I simply feel that Judy deserves better than that. 🌈

The poor woman was a victim.
