The most disturbing scene *obvious spoilers *

It wasn't Nina's shocking on stage meltdown, confessing to years of child rape at the hands of her father, as horrific as that was but what happens after.

The most disgusting moment I found was how her "jokingly" lewd, drooling slob comic club "friend" we met early in the film making overt, vulgar sexual propositions towards Nina (i.e. sexually harassing her) which she rebuffs in disgust with the impression of this being a regularly occurring "friendly" crass verbal sparring session between them, however shortly after her traumatic confession goes viral we see him approach her & apparently aroused by her story of incestuous child rape & seeing her drunken & mentally vulnerable condition immediately takes advantage of her very drunk & still traumatized state of mind to physically lure her to a backroom for quick, sleazy, predatory sex, where she quickly vomits all over him in drunkenness & disgust in what amounted to borderline rape.

I understand the scene was meant to emphasize Nina being at an absolute low point but I found it to be gratuitous & almost ruins the movie, undercutting the inspiring, healthy relationship she had been developing for most of the film, even with it still working out between them in the end.

It's a pretty hard edged drama (not a comedy) carried by Mary Elizabeth Winstead's strong performance. A very underrated actress who should have broken out as a huge star 10 years ago.
