Where does Rand find a hair trimmer between Season 1 and 2?

How does Rand suddenly have 1mm trimmed hair?
The world of the show has no consumer electronics?

This is bugging me the full first episodes.

Joke aside, it makes the series loose its character, which was perfectly captured in other places.

Maybe Rand had head lice so he shaved his head to get rid of them. They could have had a scene where he went to a barber and had his head shaved and they could have called that episode " Dances With Head Lice ".
