I wonder what the explanation will be for his wife. "Well, it's complicated...." I guess they could say that they went spelunking in the sewer and he died during an unexpected cave-in?

Also, was Eddie married in the book, or did he live with his mother like in the original adaptation?

Married, but his wife was uncannily like his mother. Even the same actress played them in these two movies!

I'm glad they gave him a wife in this movie. He didn't have one in the mini series but he does in the book.
