Season 2 basically a retread of Season One

Really loved Season One, and had it ended there it would have been a great mini series.

I still enjoyed Season Two for what it was but at the end of the day it really was a Season One retread. Practically every new character was a repeat of everything we saw in Season one.
Love is the new Beck, Forty is the new Peach, Love's friends are Beck's friends, Delilah/Ellie are the new Paco/his mom, Calvin is the new Ethan, Henderson is the new Ron, and I guess Will the new Benji.

It just felt like a movie sequel. Instead of being a genuine and natural progression of the story, it was a just a basic retread of everything they did in Season One. And I reeeeeeaaaallly wish they hasn't done the whole LA thing. It's been done to death. I'm really tired of the Hollywood on film/TV routine: aspiring actors/filmmakers, constantly name dropping celebs, pop culture references, and they all act like their the first to think it up. And dear lord how they handled Candice was dreadful, and the Love twist was kinda hot garbage. Shame.

I really hope they do something new and fresh for Season 3.

Another thing it had in common was the wokeness, in fact the two seasons combined made this show the most woke thing I've ever seen. They didn't miss a trick.

A psychotic serial killer constantly ranting about racism, white privilege and feminism. Too funny

I honestly didn't find it any more woke then 90% of tv shows these days..
I didn't think Joe really ranted about "woke" issues as much as you do as opposed to those things being his "observations" of those around him.
But don't you think that shows the irony and a hypocrisy in "wokeness" that all his sensitivity about everyone was always capped off with his being a serial killer and doing what he does when someone gets in his way or opposes him?

I generally liked the show so can say without too much bias that I haven't seen this amount of wokeness before anywhere.

It was a checklist of references that had to be included at any cost, no matter how illogical, clumsy or innappopriate it was and despite never having a bearing on the narrative - but that kind of thing takes a back seat if you're a member of the religion of wokeism.

I think that's what they were going for, yeah. I personally found out it more ironic that for all his concerns, he wasn't living in a more ethnically diverse area or attending Gender Studies classes or something.
