Would The Scorsese Joker With Leo Have Been Better?

shareCant see it
shareProbably not.
sharewhile I love Scorsese and Leo together and think it would have probably been incredible
I do not see Leo being able to give this kind of performance or being right for this JOKER....
This movie/script/concept truly took a one of a kind actor and while Leo is truly one of the greatest actors ever....I do not believe he was right for this.
i said this in another thread, but I do not believe any other actor could have hits the heights Phoenix did here...had this exact movie been with any of a dozen different excellent actors, I'm sure all would have been good, some great, but none on the level of Phoenix
honestly the only other actor, IMO that could have hit the levels Phoenix hit here is Daniel Day Lewis, but unfortunately He doesnt fit the role, being too old...
Shutter Island was my favorite film of 2010
The Wolf of Wall Street is almost a masterpiece(and IMO some of Leos best work) and criminally underrated
the Aviator is Incredible
The Departed is amazing
I love Leo and Scorsese, I have no doubt their Joker would have been Truly great and maybe as an overall movie as good or better than Phillips Joker, But if were talking this Joker movie, NO ONE could have done better than Phoenix and IMO Leo wouldnt have been right for this part
Leo is too INTENSE for this kind of Joker role.
That said, I think Christoph Waltz under Scorsese's direction might be able to, acting wise, but his accent would probably hinder it a bit.
Christoph Waltz
