Binged it today. Mildly amusing.
But nothing much happens. It's basically a circle jerk for geriatric actors.
I think I'm going to quit watching movies and series altogether soon.

Yes, I was hopeful starting to watch it, but then found out it was a Chuck Lorre show. Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin are great, but the material soon lapses into the repetitive old people jokes. I mean his show 2 1/2 Men was great...until Charlie left, but Big Bang theory?! One or two shows are cute, but 13 seasons of the same dumb jokes and characters? Only a true masochist would sit through all that!
But back to this one, the first episode was funny, especially Alan Arkin, and then we get a few good jokes here and there. But then it lapses into redundant prostate jokes and gets old very fast. But that's pretty much across the board with these Netflix series. They usually have a lack of material so try to stretch it to cover the series.
I think this is the best thing Douglas or Arkin have every been in. Lots of laughs, some a bit self-conscious, but it humanizes old people of which I am fast becoming one. I like it.
shareIt's a beautiful show. I have not quit watching movies and series after all.
shareArkin was great, as always, but if you really want Arkin at his best, watch (or rewatch) Wait Until Dark; The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming; and The In Laws.
shareI think this was Arkin at his best. At anyone's best if the quality of the writing, and TKM first two seasons are very good. S3 ... kind of a mixed blessing, but Kathleen Turner was fun to see, but the season was shorted and it was at the expense of the other characters and the plot ... and of course a missing Arkin.
shareI think it was just right. If you had Arkin, you could’ve added a couple more episodes, but hey, it was as good as it could be without him.
