Do you have to start at the beginning with this show or can you jump in at any point?
Well?
shareyou can do Hulu but I think this year has some old story likes you won't understand if you just start watching now, like the kid with autism, why is cop married to captain when she loves her first husband, where is chin; etc
shareWell you can watch it at any time if you are more into 911 cases instead of their boring private life.
Its 50/50. Half the episode its some 911 cases which are the most interesting part of the show. And half episode they invest into following lives of those firefighters and paramedics. And nothing that mush interesting is happening in them. I usually just fastforward them.
- There is wise captain Bobby Nash with some freaky and sad backstory. They dedicate much time to it in season one and then let it go, thankfully.
- Hot headed rookie Buck. Harmless and sometimes stupid.
- In season 2 they introduce Buck’s sister Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and she has freaky plot with abusive ex-husband.
- Police officer Athena (Angela Bassett) who has gay ex-husband. And they have two kids and its all very boring.
- Paramedic Chimney. Mr nice guy.
- Paramedic Henrietta. Gay and has wife and two kids. And has the most boring plot. Its usually being sad-faces home with her wife and being worry about children or something. They could not create for her interesting plot.
- Paramedic Eddie who has son with autism of something. They spend much time on his problems of raising kid with needs alone and trying to work. Its also very boring.
And thats it. You can open at any time and you wont miss match.
Actually, Eddie's son Christopher, has cerebral palsy and not autism.
Why bother and watch the show is you think that everything to do with the character's lives is boring? You could just watch the news stories that they base the 9-1-1 calls off of.
My bad. I couldnt name his condition.
Their stories not only boring as hell. They are depressing.
They are ordinary people that dont have much happening in their lives. But show needs to spend 50% of episode on them so they try to create some drama. And they cant come up with something interesting. Henrietta has the worst of it.
I'm not arguing with you, I'm just wondering why you would watch a show that you don't seem to like very much. There are so many tv shows out there that it just seems like a waste of time to me.
shareI watch it because they have very good cinematography and I like their 911 cases. They are well shot and entertaining. And I just skip most of the personal life as its just boring.
I never like when they put personal stories into detective shows also. I like cases and dont care about marriage or children problems of detectives.
That's totally fair. I wasn't criticizing you, I'm just always really curious why people watch things they don't seem to enjoy. I am okay with it up to a point. Like Criminal Minds was horrible with all the personal life stuff. I don't mind it as much with 9-1-1 as it helps with Bobby's character and such, but I didn't like the Maddie stuff. I'm about 50/50 with it.
shareI hated Maddie and her abusive ex story. Because I dont like that kind of type of abuse and was happy when they past that. It was actually very brave of them to went with "Postpartum depression" with her. Even tho it wasnt believable. But I was shocked they went there. It was unexpectedly dark.
They dont know what to do with Eddie so they keep dragging that "he has son with needs" story-line for forever. Just came up with something else.
Thank God Athena’s ex husband is gone. Because they made him almost a regular character so they had to create new stories for him to have him every week on the show. And it was boring as everything else.
Bobbies backstory from season one was so dark and shocking.
