But gradually over the seasons they have swapped genres and gone from being a goofy comedy satirizing political correctness and how times have changed since the 80s, into a low grade teen drama robbed of any humor what so ever.
Season 5 was worse than day-time soap operas, filled to the brim with melodrama and just a chore to get through.
What the heck happened?
i guess you can only go so far with "saterizing political correctness and how times have changed since the 80s" , before you start repeating yourself or it just gets old
... and they've milked the series far too far?
That's true, although I don't think they had gotten there yet. There's still loads of 80s nostalgia and modern political correctness to make fun of.
And even if they wanted to move away from all that, they could still have found other ways to make the show funny and keep in in the realm of comedy. Now it's noting but a lot of people standing around talking about their feelings. Over and over and over.
