How is Johnny that out of touch with technology?

I mean its like he has been hibernating in a cave for the last 30 years and woke up in modern times remembering only shit from the 80's. I just don't get how overtime as these things was being invented and coming out he didn't know about them.

Maybe he just doesn't care about that stuff. He's a physical type not a techno.

He doesn’t have children in his life. He doesn’t have too many friends. He didn’t go to college. He works in a low-skilled trade.

It isn’t that far fetched to see him so out of touch with technology

I just started watching this last night and right away wondered what is up with this. It does make for a good laugh but is not reality.

There are actually rational people who have absolutely no interest in smart phones, apps, texting, etc., while most people are oddly obsessed with these things and can't live one minute of a day without them. Believe it or not, the people who aren't interested in this stuff don't miss it at all.

Some people are just intimidated by technology.

I wanted to see a picture of my sister’s cat. She and my BiL have had iPhones since they came out, just to keep up with the Jones’ with no understanding of the phones capabilities.

BiL had no idea how to send a pic. I had to send him instructions:
When you turn on the phone you see the home screen. All those little symbols are icons representing your applications aka apps. Click the one that looks like a pretty, colourful flower and is called Photos. In there, click the first option that says recents. Find the picture aka as pic, that you want to send. Here is where he got stuck. He needed more instructions to learn how to slide his finger up and down to move the screen. Touch the picture you want to send. Touch the little box with an arrow pointing upward. This is the Share icon. You will get options on how you want to share. Click the green box with the cartoon speaking bubble in it called Messages. Type in my initial. It will give you options from your Contacts who have that initial. Choose mine. Touch the blue circle with the arrow pointing upwards underneath the pic. That is the Send icon. I will instantly get the pic so long as we are both getting reception. Voila.

Thanks for transcribing the instruction manual, but it's not always a matter if being "intimidated". Some people actually just couldn't care less about that stuff.
