I appreciate Obama for what he was. I was not call him
excellent in any way, but he did the job. Better than Bush,
WAY better than Trump, but still a bait-and-switch as he implied
he was going to be a transformative President and all he did
was keep things going pretty much.
ObamaCare was supposed to be health care reform, which
morphed into health insurance reform, and with no public
option. All the negative trends of America started to come to
light under Obama. I don't mean to say he was the cause, but
after decades of basically Republican oligarchic rule I think people
expect more from Obama, like a new interpretation of the NEW
DEAL or the American social contract. They expect a lot from
Trump too, which goes to show how stupid people are I guess, or
rather what happens when people get too lazy to vote and do not
show up, letting the nuts decide the election.
I've come to the conclusion that our elections are a farce. I think
they are rigged actually, or maybe it is just that there is the fix
put in in more and more places.
The Republican tax bill comes up for a vote this week and it looks
as if it could pass, which includes more undercutting or ObamaCare,
and huge tax breaks for the 1%. There is nothing out there that
represents the people, and the barriers to putting something in
place are insurmountable, as money takes over everything.
