Soundtrack is a masterpiece

Finally Tarantino did something different with his OST.

I ordered CD for my car and special edition orange vinyl with 2x posters. Listening this in the car is as if you living in L.A in the 60s and listening to radio at that time. It's just perfect. It's the first time he didn't use any dialogue interludes since his first movie.

I can only imagine how big is Tarantino's vinyl and CD collection. But I can imagine that his love for cinema is equal to his love for music aswel.

I totally agree with you. It's a great soundtrack.

What I like most about it is that he has uncovered songs that weren't big hits, but could have been big hits. It gives the film it's own identity. Same as he did with Pulp Fiction.

And the brilliant use of You Keep Me Hangin' On at the end. A great version of the song that really heightened not only the dramatic intensity of the ending, but also brought forward the weight of the history that the film is based on.

Every Tarantino film has an excellent soundtrack, even though most of it aren't original tracks. My favorite is still Kill Bill, but I haven't yet watched this one.

Even the half-lousy (but half-good) "Death Proof" starts off with the outstanding "The Last Race" by Jack Nitzsche from "Village of the Giants" (1965).

half-lousy (but half-good)

That's probably the best possible description of Death Proof.
