Let's talk about all the cameos/smaller parts

Pitt and DiCaprio were spectacular, yes.

But what about the smaller parts played by Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Timothy Olyphant, Luke Perry, Michael Madsen (although his part was very small), Nicholas Hammond, Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, Al Pacino, Emile Hirsch, Mike Moh and even Lena Dunham.

I am probably leaving somebody out, but who were your favorites of the smaller parts?

My clear favorite was Nicholas Hammond as the cowboy movie director. He was great in the part. I also liked Bruce Dern, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Emile Hirsch and I was impressed by Dakota Fanning. Al Pacino was also good here, with the benefit of being directed by a good director again. Ultimately, everyone delivered in the film.

Clu Gulager as the bookstore guy. I didn't even know he was still alive.

When Lena Dunham showed up as Gypsy, she totally took me out of the movie. Although I watched 'Girls', I'm not a fan of hers, and she seemed like she was play-acting in this movie.

I liked all the cameos at the Playboy Mansion scene, for sure. I always enjoy Kurt Russell and Timothy Olyphant.

My favorite was Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen.

He did look a lot like Steve McQueen if you can get past the fact that it's Damian Lewis.

And whoever it was who played Michelle Phillips looked almost exactly like her.

Though not played by anyone I had heard of before seeing OUATIH, my favourite was seeing Mamas Cass and Michelle 🙂

Pepe's fiddle-playing chili pepper of a daughter was played by someone according to the credits at the end. I never saw her.
