Gal Gadot .. beautiful but such a poor actor

Looks great on screen and does pretty decent in action sequences but fails miserably when it comes to the emotional moments. It was especially telling in her scenes with Wiig, Pedro and shockingly even with Chris Pine (who is not exactly that great of an actor himself)

The failed emotion scenes contributed greatly to turning this into a below average superhero fare. Just couldn't connect with the main character as an audience.

Any feel the same way ?

Absolutely, Terrible actor. She has been awful in every single film she has done.

Initially, she had charisma and likeability in addition to beauty, so audiences responded to her based on that. Her "Imagine" fiasco put a dent in that somewhat, so just casting her isn't the draw it used to be. However, the bigger reason this movie failed was the incoherent story.

Yes, she needed better writing too, but she's not a great actress to begin with.

It's just indicative of how moronic or completely bought by studios critics are when she was praised for this role. She can't emote worth a damn and her wooden delivery was distractingly awful. It's flummoxing that we're constantly told she's perfect in the role, the woman has only one look, for Christ's sake. Ferrari? Le Tigra? They're the same face. Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

It does bring up this doubt. Praising the movie for being campy and fun I can understand - it can be subjective and differ based on taste. But poor acting is just poor acting. I don't think this role needed an actor who looks good but cant act, so calling her perfect for the role is definitely a big stretch

It depends. Keanu Reeves was also said to be a wooden actor, and he kinda is. But some of his movies worked when the director knew what they were doing.

Beautiful is an under statement.

I think she has charisma and personality. That's very important and makes up for the lack of elite acting talent. I'd sooner watch a film headlined by Gadot than some acclaimed actresses like Streep, Theron, McDormand, Colman, Mirren etc, etc.

People like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa are her Male counterparts. They get by on looks and charisma. I know fine rightly that many people who badmouth Gal Gadot worship Arnold for his performances in Predator, The Terminator, Conan and so on.
