Why did the cult raise the cenobytes? What did they get out of it? Seemed like a bad idea for everyone involved....

The Hellraiser bikers beat up and captured Nic Cage and subdued Mandy.
it would have been a bit more difficult a task to complete had it been Jeremiah and the others. Only the one big guy who had the chainsaw fight at the end seemed physically apt for combat, and it would have gone wrong 100 ways from the north had the base cult members tried to capture the duo on their own.
The Hellraiser cult bikers just made things easier for them. But yeah, you're right that once they were unleashed it was pretty nasty business what they got up to on their own.
The cult didnt raise them. They just hired them.
