The main issue with this show and why I'm on the fence

There is nothing to care about. Let me explain.

We know what it's going to happen because of the initial scene.

The problem is, at least for me, that I have been disappointed too many times with sci-fy endings. Meaning pointless endings and movies or shows that just start to get exciting and such but at the end is all not explained or a total mess of incoherences. Therefore we are not excited to know what happened between the beginning and the end (opening scene) if this really the end. These shows have to captivate you from episode one, give you some hint on what is going on and something to care about.

This one is just all nonsense, I've watched 4 episodes, and there's just too many things that at the end could go: "oh yeah that weird shit... yeah we won't address that, it just happened I guess cuz space".

I have no hope that the show will solve all the unexplained things and therefore as someone has said ¨it feels like a choir or homework that I have to get through because the show is from George RR Martin¨.

I'also curious if people feel the same or are it just me? Anyone that has finished and can support the show and recommend me to invest the hours it requires?

Interesting points here. I am just starting to watch this ... and am kind of underwhelmed.
But, I will give it a chance.
I think a lot of studios see their movies as if they are actual material products, and they want
to give the least possible value and get the most possible return of profit.
So, they find a plot, or a movie that has already been done, and then they redo it, but they
cripple it in some way so they will be able to re-make the BS show later to get more people
to watch it. Look at how many remakes of the Batman movie there have been, and they
(at least to me) are all terrible.
It would be interesting to look at the breakdown of a movie's budget and see how much
they pay for the story, and if they can cut the story down in price, and hire hack writers
they can make a lot more profit.

I'm in episode 3 and about to give up. Really tired of a guy's dead daughter running around and all these other hallucinations. And tired of the endless back and forth about Thale: "we need him," "we're going to kill him," "we can't find him on a ship full of cameras," etc. Also, "he can't hurt you, but don't corner him, or he'll kill you." ????

I was intrigued by the Volcryn angle: would there be first contact? What would it be like? "The Expanse" milked 3 seasons out of a first contact mystery. But, this show is zigzagging at times, dull at others: I'm playing solitaire during "action" scenes.

And yeah, it was stupid to put the ending at the beginning. Newsflash: that kills all mystery and suspense.

I gave up. I thought this was supposed to be good because it was written by George R. R. Martin of Game Of Thrones fame ... but the idea sucks, the story sucks, the acting sucks, the directing sucks.

The situation where the black lady was drowning in the ... whatever that big tank of water was? Where was the snoopy captain. Where were any panic buttons, the computer doesn't monitor the crew ... no intercom. It was ridiculous ... and shortly after that I thought ... I don't need this.
