I get it... but the hype is unwarranted

The ads lured me into seeing this at the theater. just got home after seeing it today. gotta say, it was okay but not worthy of all the hype. i should have known, because that's how hollywood does things when they want to ramp up sales. 'the next hitchcock' etc. Nah, not even close. not even the next M Night. or anyone else for that matter. yes it was okay, just a movie. in no way, let me repeat that for the seats in the back, IN NO WAY exceptional enough to be calling this man the next hitchcock. all that does is shows the raw bias of some people who want (for whatever reason) to heap undue praise.

look, i get it that he is a minority and historically there haven't been a lot of minority directors, etc etc. but he is no hitchcock. yes the film was good. the cute little twist i figured out in the opening scene. wasn't trying to; it jst occurred to me. but not to mention that that same twist opens up a lot of plot holes, which i am sure have already been discussed here.

i enjoyed it. but it didn't blow me away like i thought it would after hearing all the hype everywhere.
