I thought the second episode was really funny. The first one was OK. Definitely will be watching again next week.

Pretty classic Roseanne. I noticed a lot of line reading though. I don't think they rehearsed these episodes.

I enjoyed both episodes. I'll definitely watch again next week.

I know. I’m shocked it was so good.

Much better than the last three seasons of the original show so far, I'd say.

It was far better than I was expecting--definitely blew Fuller House out of the water. They didn't pull any "let's make it about the kids now" crap and kept it centered on Dan, Roseanne, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and DJ.

The jokes were spot-on and it was as if no time passed at all.

While I despise Trump, I'm happy with the way the first episode dealt with it: no names of the candidates and plenty of banter from BOTH sides. This Trump thing had me worried when the revival was first announced but I'm happy to see they kept it mainly politically neutral like the old days of the show.

I also love the way they explained the book and Dan. It was such a small correction that allowed for season 9 and its ending to still exist while allowing it all to be excised at the same time: Roseanne wrote a book about a fictional (and widowed) version of herself writing a book on her life--a book within a book. Yeah, it's clunky but, as a writer, I have seen this style done in some books before. It allows "the book" to exist but simply adds an extra twist that undoes the death of Dan, Jackie being gay, spouse swaps, etc. They got it out of the way quickly and it allowed season 9 to still be canon...if only in the sense that it was a failed manuscript Roseanne wrote and subsequently shelved. I actually LOVE the twist. So simple yet allows season 9 to be both ignored and acknowledged at the same time.

I also love how Dan reacts to Mark. He's loving but concerned for the kid's welfare at school.

I love how DJ wound up marrying the very girl he was afraid to kiss because she was black. What a funny and even touching twist/throwback to earlier seasons.

Becky and Darlene's banter is as good as ever.

I laughed out loud when Jackie mentions her "cop days" again because it's such a recurring joke with her character refusing to let those memories go.

This didn't feel like a pro-Trump vehicle at all as some feared--more like a politically ambiguous series as it's always been embracing BOTH-

-parties. And, really--we'd be better off as a country if we could ever wind up politically even like that one day.

Anyway, I'm loving this season. Might be as good as Seasons 1-6. Time will tell.
