In the movie Split we had that awesome build-up to it. We only got it at the end.
I get that the mystery is over now but still, in this movie it's like "oh look, some dudes, time to activate beast mode" for like 10 times.
"oh hey, can't open this pickle jar, beast mode on!".
Wasn't scary or imposing to see it so often. What you guys think?
No the Beast needed to be seen a fair bit in this. We'd had his build up movie now we needed to see him in action

Fight scene with Dunn at the end is almost the same as the one at the start.
You had him turn into the beast to kick ass in the basement, then after going outside he does the same thing with some guards. Apparently that wasn't enough. Then the riot guys come and...he kicks their ass as well. Why not have one good scene instead of 3 almost identical ones.
No. I was already expecting this. It was time to see the Beast in his full glory and in action. That was a great thing about Split though. The overall suspense and the build up to the Beast, really liked it.
shareExactly. The mystery surrounding The Beast and the initial impact he makes is gone, but that is the point: Split was a different film with a different narrative. With Glass, M. Night wasn’t going for the same effect as Split. Instead, he set out to make something new and very comic-inspired.
It was inevitable that The Beast was going to be unleashed in Glass like we hadn’t seen before, if you ask me. So I say we saw as much of The Beast as we needed to in this final installment. I just cannot imagine him being used in any other way that could’ve worked better for Glass’ story; M. Night “stayed true” to the film’s comic inspirations.

shareI actually agree with you. I think the Beast was shown a bit TOO often in this imo.
I think there were some scenes where he should have been in of course, but I think I would have preferred to have seen some of the other characters a bit more, and for longer. I think Shyamalan should have stuck to about 9 or 10 personalities just like in Split. Trying to do 20 in one film is only going to give some personalities very VERY little screen-time. :(
