PG-13 if you didn't already know that

According to Disney, the latest film in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will carry a PG-13 rating just like the previous two installments of the superhero franchise. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating for the MCU blockbuster was given due to "intense sequences of violence and action, strong language, suggestive/drug references, and thematic elements."

Of course it's PG-13 Disney has no balls to make edgy comic book movies that don't hold back, that's why I'm glad that Disney hasn't taken over DC and WB cause than there would be no chance of getting an edgy Lobo movie which I would absolutely love to see since he is one of my all time....and while I've seen tame adaptations of Lobo that were just fine, I would love to see a rated R Lobo movie, being that Lobo is one of the most violent characters in comic books, so the best way to partray him is edgy and uncensored which won't happen if Disney were in charge, Disney would wind up ruining it, and it is actually pretty hard to ruin Lobo. As it so happens it's rumored that James Gunner is interested in making a Lobo movie staring Jason Momoa which would be absolutely amazing.

This one took PG-13 to the absolute limits though. It was awesome, but not for little kids at all.

I feel like the movie should have been R-rated, and I say that as an adult.

Especially that moment where get to see the High Evolutionary's fucked up looking face from when Rocket attacked him. It feels like James Gunn was trying to push the violence in this movie as far as possible to see how much it would take for Disney to say "OK! STOP!".

It might be this generation's Temple of Doom or Poltergeist for messing up little kids. I couldn't believe the face ripped off scene either. Even The Dark Knight didn't go that far with Two-Face.
