Question about Nell (Spoilers)

SPOILERS

I just finished binge watching this ..can someone explain how Nell as a child was seeing herself as an adult with a broken neck ?

reply

I knew the house was syooose to be the magic that keeps the ghosts but the plot hole is they can see the ghosts away from the house as well.

But with this Nell big clue was “ time doesn’t run linear

reply

Is it really a plot hole if they are still haunted outside of the house?

reply

Yes. The show makes it rather clear, or tries to, that once someone dies in that house, their soul is trapped within it, never to escape. So yes, in that sense, it is a plot hole of convenience.

And frankly, the whole "time isn't linear" thing is weak too. It's just a hollow plot device to explain why some semi-nonsensical things happened. Nell's future tragic ghost haunting her past, living self, is pretty nonsensical. But you're expected to just accept it and move on.

Have to say I didn't really get that here. In The Haunting of Bly Manor, yes, definitely. But not in this one.

reply

Well, Olivia saw things out of time also.

Nell made that whole speech at the end about time not being linear.
