What the hell was the family's plane for when [SPOILER]?

When the son's best friend returns from overseas and immediately outs them as being part of one family. I mean, he's going to be pretty pissed the son honed in on the friend's future girlfriend. Why is this never addressed? This could've easily been solved had they established that the friend had never met the son's family and was just a casual friend. Can setup that stone some other way.

I had the same thought while watching that. Kid looked like a decent, honest guy, I don't think, that he would've let the family do their thing. It's weird the movie didn't mention that, because it's indeed a reasonable threat

same though process here. but alas it never came to be. But boy is Min in for a surprise when he returns!

I wonderd if "part 2" (virtual concept here :-) ) would be a sort of talented mr ripley scenario!

Didn't he go overseas for school? I don't think they were expecting they would need to work there for four years. As far as the girlfriend thing, I'm pretty sure the girl is welcome to choose who she liked more. It's not like calling "dibs" on an actual human being means you're going to get her in the end.

This is a society where arranged marriages for wealthy daughters were the norm just a few decades ago. The daughter will marry whoever the parents approve of.

They would move on to the next family. They just wanted to suck as much money out of this family as they could in time. Also its pretty clear that outside the son the family didnt really knew the friend.

Min enters their home and greets his parents and even his sister by name. He knows them and vice versa

reply

I was thinking the same. Not a very well thought out plan in the long run

reply

Did they look like having any kind of a plan?

reply

Or a plane?
