her wound

Under the drug she took, she was able to remove the wooden stump and close the wound on her belly. But what about the one on her back? That tree branch went through her back before exiting on the front, yet she never closed that back wound.

Also she would've lost a lot of blood that first night (remember the trail of blood?) and while she was sleeping since her back wound was never closed, how many liters of blood did she loose anyway?

And like another poster mentioned, her hair turned dark brown with a few highlights in the back by the middle of the film.

Yes, I was wondering about that one (the wound on her back) as well. But then I remembered this flick was all about bloody revenge, and half-naked chick running around killing bad guys, and crazy colors, and beautiful nature shots... So I stopped.

Yup.

I think we are supposed to assume the back is taken care of with the fire either at the same time or earlier on the tree as her back is burned through the rest of the film.

You will just have to suspend your disbelief as she non of it really works as she would most likely be bleeding internally and where did the wounds go? Why was the beer logo printed onto her but not reversed? There are more questions than answers.

I think her hair is supposed to have darkened with moisture?

Anyway, don't think too hard about the wound if you want this movie to make any kind of sense. Just accept that it's set in a universe where internal bleeding doesn't exist.

People can and do survive horrible wounds all the time. In fact I watched a news story today about a man who was shot with a. 45 caliber handgun point blank in the stomach three times and once through his right eye. Not only did he survive the shooting he fully recovered. Well, minus his eye of course.

reply

Yes people can survive all sorts of horrible wounds, but they survive thanks to modern medicine. She suffered traumatic wounds out in the wild where there was dirt and bacteria everywhere. Ignoring her being able to get around the land better than most uninjuried people the reality is the wounds would have become infected, especially with the time spent in the nasty water. She would have been running a fever and dying from the infections within 24 hours not running around like a female Rambo.

It's an extremely stylized film with heightened-reality elements.

I questioned that, plus how she didn't have a broken back, falling at that height and stopping suddenly on that tree, backwards.

I figured the fire cauterized her back wound just as she fell off the burning part. Lucky, eh?

Of course, she left her phone there, instead of pre-empting the entire rest of the movie by using her cellphone to summon the helicopter or help of some kind.

It was an interesting "women good, men bad" flick, though.
