Saw this last night in imax with a group of friends and we were all blown away. Afterwards, we stood in a circle (masks on lol) in the cinema car park and discussed this film for 2 hrs. What we concluded is that we are all going to see it again next week.
I agree this film is fantastic (although I think the Dark Knight Rises is still his best work) and I too can’t stop talking about it with buddy’s. It is very complicated (sorry MODICA this isn't for you) but figuring out confusing plot points afterwards in discussions is so rewarding.
Stopped reading after TDKR sock-drawer circle jerk.
Tenet was not very good but had some exceptional action sequences. The audio was terrible so I may, one day, watch it again with subtitles to get some idea of what the fuck the Indian lady and anyone wearing a mask was saying. Who knows, maybe I'll love it once I can hear it.
I really appreciate this very rare post from you in which there is only a diminutive passive aggressive insult instead of the full clip of memorized insults as is usual. Maybe you're turning your leaf sideways. May your sentiment (and all of your other accounts) be sincere.
When I saw it there were only 4 people in the theater. It was a saturday night. This movie isn't going to do much business. The first big flop for Nolan.
Saw it a third time, in IMAX, only two other people in the whole theater. Will be buying the blu-ray. Might even see it again!
Got to give credit where it is due: Where David Lynch puts up a bunch of crazy things that amaze but you "get to interpret what they mean yourself", Nolan puts up a bunch of crazy things that amaze but they all tie together nicely, make sense, fit like a puzzle, and work to entertain, instead of random abstract self interpretation.
Making you WORK FOR IT, is way more satisfying then getting it on a silver platter while you read texts, eat your chicken wings, and talk about something with your S.O., instead of paying attention and thinking.
I really appreciate him not ASSUMING I am a f****** moron.
I thought the Dark Knight Trilogy was the best series ever. George Lucas should've limited Star Wars to a trilogy, but he was carried away from the get go and he had to make the serial "fit" after the first three.
Anyway, I'm going to see Tenet tonight. It's trailers were confusing with things going backwards but that is one of Nolan's trademark. I also heard it was the best action movie ever. Not only that, it's in IMAX, another Nolan trademark since he wants immersion. I am ready to watch it more than once maybe not all IMAX. The theaters should get more crowded as people are starting to go back out to restaurants, malls, department stores and the like.
If it was Nolan's best work, it would have cleared 50 million at the domestic box office. The Chinese market is the only thing that saved this from being a complete bomb.
