Does the long runtime detract from the viewing experience?

In the olden days you'd have an intermission so you could have a break.

I wonder if this should have one?

Last time I've heard of an intermission was for Wyatt Earp in 94, but at 3 and a half hours it kind of needed a lunch break.

reply

it should have been even longer with several breaks - in other words, it should have been a tv miniseries.

reply

there's so little character or stuff to actually care about that it could have benefitted from being shorter OR longer

reply

If they would have cut 40 minutes from the movie, the movie would be more consistent and pleasant.

reply

I don’t think so. It was fast paced and engaging. Seemed shorter that 2.5 hours to me.

reply

I think it is 2 and half hours but I didn't notice it

reply

Well that’s a good sign.

Just saw it in the cinema and didn’t realise until I got outside just how long the film was.
