shareI wanted to go see it in theaters but when I showed up to the theater I saw a bunch of families walking in and changed my mind. I decided being a a single guy walking into a family movie by myself wasn't a good look and wanted to avoid that. I remember going to see The Lego Batman movie in theaters but went to a late show and had no problem with that. I ended up watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie at home once it came to 4k.
shareBruh, I wouldn't worry about the perception there. It would be different if it was a straight-up children's movie but a family movie is designed to appeal to all ages and I'm assuming you grew up playing the games anyway.
Your comment reminds me of when I went to see Wreck-It Ralph by myself, ironically also a video game-inspired animated movie. That was a packed theater. Lots of families with kids. It was a fun time.
I probably didn't have to worry about it but I did. Occasionally there are kids movies like that I would want to see in theaters but I would just feel better going to a late show by myself.
shareNo, unless they took their children to see it.. Gen Z loved the shit out of it, but they also loved Barbie too.. I'll never forget when I went to see the MEG 2 and stopped in the restroom before the movie and saw 4 young males at the urinal dressed in hot pink pants, white button down shirts, white socks and black shiny shoes like something out of a Shirley Temple movie and all I could do was shake my head.. My Dad would've had me committed if I walked out of the house dressed like this at that age..
shareI AM 42...I AM STRAIGHT...I LOVED THE BARBIE MOVIE...I WEAR PINK ALL THE TIME....YOU HAVE HANG-UPS.
shareThe only one who is insecure and immature is yourself.
