Video game fans support each other. I didn’t watch the Sonic films on the big screen. But you better bet I will after the success of the Mario movie.

The Sonic movies with Jim Carrey are very good. Jim kills it as Dr Robotnik. Must see.

I didn't, and I still won't. I'll never forget Sega's nasty, anti-Nintendo ads from the early 90s claiming Mario was for dorks and all the cool kids played Sega. Nintendo won that war because Sega makes games for NINTENDO consoles now. F Sega!

No thank you, but thanks for offering. However, I do like Sonic. Not sure why you can't enjoy both, but if this sucked, I probably will reconsider seeing it.

I can't enjoy Mario because I don't like it. I find it repetitive. But I also think the animation sucks in this movie.

I thought you were suggesting I engage in sexual interactions with the movie, which I respectfully declined - I thought no other thing than that by your remark. AKA I was being a smart ass. If the movie sucks, it sucks. Sonic certainly didn't, the recent films were pretty decent. I've had my suspicions that the new Mario movie would suck, so I'm not particularly bothered if I don't end up seeing it anytime soon, but I will watch it eventually out of curiosity.

I would hardly say the animation "sucks". Illumination has overtaken Pixar in about every way as far as I'm concerned. Pixar has too many messages and morals now. Illumination just wants you to have a good time.

I'm a much bigger fan of the Mario series vs sonic,but even with that, I didn't care for this movie. It was geared for way to young of an audience. It lacked the comedy and heart of something like The Lego Movie.

I liked the Mario Bros movie's approach in how it didn't run away from the video gamey-ness of the source material like most video game movie adaptations do but instead fully leaned into it. Ironically though I actually found the Sonic movies to be more entertaining, even though I wish they had taken the same approach.

Dragon Quest Your Story on Netflix. Although be forewarned it spoils Dragon Quest 5.
