Illumination doesn't have the best track record when it comes to movies and I've noticed the trailers for this are cut together akwardly like their trying to show as little as possible and not in a good way. I have a feeling at best this will be very mediocore and forgettable. Should've gotten someone other than Illumination to do this.

shareI've said it before, the look & presentation is really the only thing done particularly well. I definitely agree with the description of the "movie" feeling like a safe, bland, glorified commercial for the Super Mario video game franchise.
shareIllumination is alright. The problem is that they are too childish. This is fine because it's a kid's movie, but both Disney and DreamWorks do a far better job at making sure their movies can at least be enjoyed and respected by adults.
