How would you rank it compared to previous best picture winners?
I would rank it in the top 15. It's not as great as classics like Ben-Hur, Gone With the Wind, and The Godfather, but I would rank it above a lot of other winners.

shareOut of the 70 best picture winners that I've seen (out of 95, total), I'd rank it 15th.
shareNear the bottom along all the musicals and crappy movies that have won.
shareI'm glad it won against To Leslie, which was the obvious oscar bait.
sharei think it was pretty good. a solid 8/10, though not perfect. i think it'll defiently be remembered as one of the best BP picks in recent memory, considering flicks like the green book, nomadland, argo, the artist, the king's speech, and coda are hardly being discussed (even if they're good). most of those aforementioned movies will never be seen in a "best movies of all time" list. but I can guarantee EEAAO will be. so in that regard i think it will probably be seen as one of the best BP of the last few decades. cant really think of the last a time the year's big crowdplease/fan favorite won BP...maybe the departed?
shareI'd rank it among that handful of winners I'll remember winning.
shareThe Bottommost
Most of those undeserving best picture winners atleast had some serious art. EEAAO was an insult.
The pacing was way off. Also, it seemed to me that they kept doing repetitive scenes which were only slightly different from each other. If the movie were made prior to 2019, it would "not" have been considered for anything. We're currently in this woke holding pattern, and waiting for the next golden age of cinema. Everything after 2019 has been sub-par garbage.

I'd rank it near the bottom with Crash, Nomadland, Moonlight, 12 Years a Slave, Slumdog Millionaire, Shakespeare in Love, Gigi and The Greatest Show on Earth. Infact, I think it's the single worst Best Picture winner ever. I said near the bottom, but now that I think about it, it shares the bottom with Moonlight.
