Wow.

So one half of the directors duo is Asian.
One half of the best original screenwriters is Asian.
The best supporting actor is Asian.
The best leading actress is Asian.
The best supporting actress was the token White girl in an Asian ensemble. (The luck of the yellow must have rubbed off on her!)

Michelle Yeoh became the first woman who identifies as Asian nominated in the Best Actress category. A record four Asian actors received acting nominations: Hong Chau, Stephanie Hsu, and winners Ke Huy Quan and Yeoh.

We were coming along so well but it seems Asians have ousted the Africans as the preferred 'people of color'. #BlackLivesMatter has failed, did we learn nothing? This White and Asian coalition spells the end for African-American performance and appraisal!!

The awards have gotten grief in the past for only awarding White people and now they're only awarding White and Yellow people.

When Brown and Black people get fair representation then we can all chill. Until that day we must call out this racism!

I am aware of some people who are of the belief that Asians aren't true People Of Color.

They have not faced the same racism as Africans and Native Americans. They are also the White peoples favorite non-Whites. They view them as the token minority who keeps quiet and knows their place.

I really am starting to subscribe to this belief. The old White men at the Academy have found a way to skirt around racism accusations and that is by awarding Asians along with Whites, this way they don't have to give African Americans any awards. Watch this space they'll keep doing it till the true People Of Color speak out against this White & Asian coalition.

This was a terrible night for cinema and the anti-racism movement.

Black Lives Matter
Oscars So White

White and Black people are refered to by their color, so should Yellow people. It's not racist. If it is then so is referring to European descended people as White and African descended people as Black. Why the double standards?

I'm combating discrimination.

Isn't that what everyone wants? For these awards to be truly diverse.

Remember a few years ago when Natalie Portman and co' kicked up a fuss about female directors not getting respect? Well that has been forgotten about by everyone. No female directors were nominated this year!!

This whole celebration of Asian winners is a distraction tactic. This is not a cause for celebration, we haven't defeated sexism or racism. We have a long way to go yet.

We must not forget female directors, African talent and so on. They have been brushed aside this year during the #OscarsSoYellow debacle.

Africans have faced more racism than Asians in the USA over the course of the nations existence. I say this will great certainty.

You do realize that the #OscarsSoWhite started because every person nominated for acting that year was white right?

This year 13 out of 20 were white, so I'm really not seeing where your comment makes any sort of sense.
